Cameron proudly stated Equality right at the heart of morality and childhood at the Girl Summit 2014: David Cameron's speech
"But for me the context is very simple. The context is about equality. I’m a dad with 3 children, 2 girls and a boy, and I want my girls to grow up with every opportunity that my son has, with no disadvantage, with the chance to make everything that my girls can of their lives. And that is really what this is, it’s about equality.
And there – of course, there are so many things, when it comes to tackling inequality, we need to address, whether it is equal pay or equal rights or fighting discrimination or equal opportunities, including in political life. But what seems to me is so important about these 2 issues is they are absolutely standing rebukes to our world that they still exist. And so when we think of the fight for equality, which should be at the heart of the commitments to the Millennium Development Goals, it’s absolutely clear to me that we’ve got to start with outlawing these practices, which is why today’s conference is so important.
Now when we make commitments like this, I think we have to ask ourselves 3 very straightforward questions: why give these issues such a priority? How are we going to achieve our goals? And, crucially, what we are about to do – will it work? And how are we going to follow up on the promises that we make?
The practices of exclusion aren’t just simply a violation of rights. They are a total violation of the chance to enjoy your childhood and the chance to lead a fulfilling life. That is why these issues matter so much.
And when we look at the problems of childhood of poverty and exclusion Exclusion and child cruelty are preventable evils , preventable evils that does not have to happen. And with the right combination of effort, political will and hard work, we can achieve what we have set out to achieve.
the fundamental point that simply passing a law, or simply spending some money, is not enough.
Politicians are very good at passing laws – we’re also quite good at spending money – but what politicians aren’t always good at is following through and making sure that a change in law leads to a change in culture, leads to a change in practice, and that is why I think this charter, with all the commitments it makes for what countries and families and people must do, is so good.
And here in Britain, we want to be good to our word. It is already illegal to try to have a child aborted for the convenience .

So my daughter – my eldest daughter is 10; not that much younger than some of the children who get pushed into childhood or early marriage; not that much younger than girls who get cut and have their lives, in so many ways, taken away from them. And this really is about the world that we want children to grow up in. ReplyDeleteJonathan Goldberg is a better more humane father and human being in my opinion than someone who abuses a pupil when he is in a position of trust in relation to her by making her pregnant, abandoning her and her career (which she fought so hard to attain) and deserting the child when born and denying paternity on oath (the court found him guilty "without a doubt"and the mother to be utterly truthful, Sir Derek gave evidence) his own baby child then denies paternity on oath despite telling Sir Derek "!'ve made my pupil pregnant," well he is always showing his own true colour with consistency, kind to those who suck up to him irresponsible to his youngest child marvellously assiduously careful towards his own comforts, rattling on about his fan club and how he's adores but cruel as hunger menacing to his own son who he left in agony as a baby on a life-support machine while he went hunting telling the appalled Sir Derek Spencer Solicitor General "I couldn't care less if he dies he is nothing to me "as he drank his champagne and went off to his country estate to go for a week end of pleasure and hunting innocent animals who had never hurt him for yet another bloodlust sport, hurting his own son grievously and the young mother his young orphaned pupil who he breached his professional duty of care to, by making her pregnant, simply didn't satisfy the blood lust enough so lets hound the innocent little animals as well. On August the fifth David Cocks QC and Assistant recorder acting chairman of the Criminal Bar Association and head of the Attorney General’s Chambers was taken to court by his former pupil barrister Felicity and ordered to increase its provisions for the child. Felicity and obtain the original order for maintenance of 25 than a week while she was pregnant although Cocks denied paternity. She was his pupil in chambers that included Derek Spencer, Tory MP and Michael Havers, Attorney General. At the time, the changes divided into opposing camps, though ultimately the male club rules prevailed. William Marshall(later Attorney General of Hong Kong) offered to represent Felicity's interest against Cocks, but was told to desist by senior silk and, when he persisted was given three months notice to quit the chambers. Michael Havers already an MP was approached to help reason with Cocks but declined. At one point Cocks to Felicity that she “didn’t have the guts to commit suicide.” nevertheless she won an order for maintenance in the teacher professional disapproval. Cocks there after had to pay £25 per week, by deducting tax he paid her £16.24 a week. Felicity and then proceeded to struggle broke to bring up their child while at the same time attending to advance her career. Meanwhile David Cocks , who had already divorced his first wife Patricia Cocks, married again to Sarah Child the wife of his best friend Robert Woods, who subsequently suffered a nervous breakdown. After many years Felicity felt that the combination of school fees and the rising cost of living entitled her to claim a more substantial sum of maintenance from Cocks .when she took out a summons against Cocks he offered her £2335 per annum. She refused to settle and was awarded a sum of roughly 4000 pounds per annum and Marlborough magistrates Court where Sarah Cocks, Cocks second wife, happens to sit as a stipendiary magistrate. Felicity and apparently intends to appeal for more for their son. Although David Cocks accept the judgment of the court he will not allow his name to be entered on the birth certificate and has never asked to see the child.
